Malaysian Palm Oil Company Kim Loong 2Q Profit Doubles

Kim Loong Resources Bhd’s net profit more than doubled to RM27.74 million in its second quarter ended July 31, 2008 from RM11.78 million a year earlier, while revenue increased to RM182.1 million from RM111.17 million.

EPS rose to 12.91 sen from 6.71 sen. It proposed a gross interim dividend of 10 sen per share versus three sen a year earlier, bringing the total to 33 sen per share.

For the first half of FY09, its net profit rose nearly threefold to RM48.74 million from a year earlier, driven by higher crude palm oil prices. Revenue rose to RM318.4 million from RM179.14 million. EPS rose to 22.91 sen from 9.44 sen.
